Sermorelin (GHRH 1-29) is a synthetic 29-amino acid amidated peptide corresponding to the N-terminal 1–29 fragment of endogenous human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) — the shortest fully functional fragment of GHRH. It is a frequent subject of laboratory research and is supplied as a lyophilized powder for research use only.
In published in vitro and preclinical research, Sermorelin has been studied in connection with selective binding to the GHRH receptor on anterior pituitary somatotrophs and activation of adenylate cyclase–cAMP–PKA signaling. These studies are conducted in cell-culture and animal research models. The findings derive from laboratory research and do not describe or imply any effect, benefit, or use in humans or animals.
