5-Amino-1MQ

5-Amino-1-methylquinolinium (5-Amino-1MQ) is a small-molecule membrane-permeable inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) — an enzyme highly expressed in adipose tissue and liver that consumes SAM (S-adenosylmethionine) to methylate nicotinamide, simultaneously depleting methyl donor pools and reducing NAD+ precursor availability in a manner that promotes adipogenesis and metabolic dysfunction.
