Hospira Sterile Water

Hospira Sterile Water for Injection, USP is a preservative-free, sterile, nonpyrogenic aqueous solution supplied in a 10ml single-dose vial or 50ml vial manufactured by Hospira (a Pfizer company). Unlike bacteriostatic water, it contains no benzyl alcohol or other antimicrobial preservatives — making it the appropriate diluent for research applications requiring a preservative-free reconstitution medium, or where benzyl alcohol sensitivity is a consideration in the experimental design.

Reconstituted solutions should be used promptly and stored under appropriate conditions as dictated by the specific peptide’s stability profile. For research protocols requiring multi-dose reconstituted peptide preparations with extended usable life, Hospira Bacteriostatic Water (30ml) preserved with 0.9% benzyl alcohol is the preferred alternative.
