Thymosin Alpha-1

Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1; thymalfasin) is a 28-amino acid acetylated peptide derived from prothymosin alpha, originally isolated from thymic tissue. It is a frequent subject of laboratory research and is supplied as a lyophilized powder for research use only.

In published in vitro and preclinical research, Thymosin Alpha-1 has been studied in connection with agonist activity at Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) and Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) on myeloid and dendritic cells, and with associated dendritic-cell and T-cell maturation signaling.
